Software Architect

Job Summary

We are currently hiring a full-time Software Architect. Ideal candidate will have experience in building high volume data processing and information extraction. This job involves the expansion of our data acquisition and processing systems that connect and unify data from thousands of sources every day. This is a 100% hands-on position responsible for both front-end and back-end development in a team environment.

Languages & Experience

  • Web Standards (HTML, XML, XHTML, CSS, JS)
  • C#, Java & ASP.NET
  • MS SQL Server / MySQL
  • Knowledge of one or more ETL Tools: SSIS, MSDTS, Informatica, Data Junction, Talend,   Pervasive Data Integrator
  • Knowledge of XML, XSD Schema, XSLT, XPath
  • Ability to use/evolve known/existing data structures and software algorithms to design,     implement, and debug complex systems
  • Experience with Lucene and statistical document analysis a strong plus
  • Practical experience in NLP and machine learning for text and data mining
  • Familiarity with open source tools, such as Hadoop, Mahout, and Solr to handle large scale   storage, searching and data mining in a multi-lingual environment.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • B.A. or B.Sc. or equivalent
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of production .NET experience
  • 2+ years of Web development experience
  • Strong software engineering process skills
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Proven capacity to work independently and manage multiple, competing demands
  • Able to take high level requirements and develop software architecture and code with     minimum supervision
  • Located in the greater Boston area
